    Description

1967 Hullabaloo Roseville, MI, club handbill/original art, Detroit rock, Endless Chain, Passing Clouds
    About this item
Here’s a rare and obscure piece of Detroit area rock history. My best friend’s parents opened a Hullabaloo franchise in Roseville, Michigan around April 1967. There were several of these teen dance franchises in the area (Clarkston, Dearborn, Toledo). The club was short-lived because the City of Roseville revoked their dance permit in October 1968. In late 1967 I drew this mediocre flyer for them and had it mimeographed to advertise the appearance of The Endless Chain on Friday December 22 and the Passing Clouds on December 23. Magic Veil did the light show. The original art and mimeo handbill each measure 11 x 8-1/2 inches. My research doesn’t show any psychedelic posters or flyers for other Hullabaloo clubs… they mostly used simple, type-driven advertisements and stock pictures from the TV show.
The club was located in a tip-up building in an industrial park on Common Road near Groesbeck Highway.
