    Description

    1976 AMC Pacer D/L. Original 258 CID (4.2l) Jeep straight six engine, three-speed automatic transmission.
    Second owner, papers to prove it.
    Current owner since 2001. Speedometer and odometer stopped working at 44,800. Owner drove the car on only a few occasions after that, so the mileage is very close. Title reads "exceeds mechanical limits" but the car was never driven regularly by either owner. The condition of the engine and drivetrain, and assurances from both owners, suggest the car has very close to the indicated 44,xxx.
    A full tune up was done, carburetor rebuilt, water pump and fuel pump replaced, fuel lines replaced, starter replaced, all shocks replaced, liftgate supports replaced, new floor pans welded in, and new tires put on in 2017, then the car was immediately put in storage. Less than 50 miles on the tires.
    In Sept. 2021 the car was gently restarted and brakes fully serviced. The car runs great, is safe to operate and ready to drive to your favorite retro event or car show.
    The body is in overall good condition. The main body components are sound, and the car  is restorable to original appearance. New floor pans were welded in in 2017 (see receipt). There is some spot rust, but nothing that affects safety or drivability. The worst is a hole in the rear compartment floor under the spare tire, and on the valance panel under the rear bumper. The vinyl top has some defects. The chrome front bumper is very corroded.
    The interior is in very good condition. There is some cracking on door trim panels. There is one small tear in the driver seat fabric, but the seats are otherwise in very good condition, with no broken or sagging parts.
    Not working: Horn, gearshift indicator, speedometer, odometer, air conditioning. All driving lights/signals work.
    Comes with AMC Technical Service Manual.
