21" MORIMURA BROTHERS CHARACTER BABY Bisque Head Composition Body

Description

Here is a happy 21" antique Morimura Brothers baby with bisque head and composition 5 piece body.  The back of the neck has the Morimura Brothers mark as well as a word underneath that I can't quite make out.  This baby is very nicely painted with tons of very finely painted upper and lower eyelashes and multi-stroke eyebrows.  The open mouth has 4 upper teeth and a wobble tongue although the tongue does not move.  There are no cracks, chips or repairs to the bisque but there is some overall kiln dust or speckling which you can see in the pictures.  Her brown glass eyes are stationary.  The light brown antique or vintage mohair wig is very full.  Her body is quite sturdy and heavy with what appears to be the original finish.  She has a small hole at the top of one arm and is missing 2 fingers on one hand and 1 finger on the other hand. She will come wearing a vintage Feltman Bros hand embroidered dress with a white cotton slip underneath.  One of the sleeves needs a bit of resewing at the armhole, and both pieces could use cleaning.  Underneath she has cotton panties which have several holes in them.  She has a beautiful cream silk bonnet with tons of lace and pintucks.  The inside silk lining of the bonnet is shredding but the outside is still in excellent condition.  Be sure to check out all the pictures which tell more than my words can say.
