Early Career Professional Model Louisville Slugger Bat CHIPPER JONES Braves RAREThis bat was donated by the Braves to a local baseball league for a fund raiser where it was purchased by me.
#10 is written in light colored marker on both the barrel and the knob. The writing matches other Jones bats of this era.
It is a Louisville Slugger R161 Chipper Jones model.
Jones used Rawlings most of his career. But, early on he used the Louisville Sluggers. Typically, Jones used light colored bats when he was on the left side of the plate and dark ones when he batted from the right. Most Louisville Sluggers you see have his minor league number (64) on them. But, this is an Atlanta Brave model.
This rare bat would be great to have Jones sign.
It is not game used as far as I can tell. There is no pine tar or marks on it. But, it looks like it did rattle around in a bat rack. When I got it there were several marks on the knob and all over the bat from what I would think is the bat going in and out of the rack.
Please check out my other Braves Game bats.
