    Description

Excellent condition WWI US Navy enlisted jumper/blouse, with cuff stripes for a Seaman 1st Class, and the white right shoulder "striker" for the Seaman Branch. This has not been modified, retaining the waistband clothing stops on each side, the draw string in front, and neckerchief loop at the base of the 'V' neck line. The left breast pocket has the hand-worked "crows feet", and the rear collar has hand-worked white five-point stars. The striker tape around the right shoulder seam is of worsted wool, unlike the later synthetic blend. The collar is the wider and slightly shallower style, as compared with the WWII style.
The size is large, measuring across the chest from armpit to armpit at 21 inches, making this close to a size 40-42. The waist measures at 21 inches, the torso from armpit to waist at 17 inches, and the sleeves from armpit to cuff at 21 inches. For reference, the mannequin torso measures a 42 inch chest, and 38 inch waist. The only flaw I can find is one cuff button is missing, and one very small hole (about 2mm x 4mm) on the left front, below the yoke (shown in photo). Lastly, the sailor's name is stenciled in white, along the inside waistband. Examine the photos, and ask questions prior to bidding, as this is sold as is.
